Ice
T was at the New York
Music and Internet Expo, helping launch another online record
label, SomeMusic.com. Ice serves on the advisory board of the
latest online label. The site allows musicians to market, promote
and sell their music online. SomeMusic.com is the latest division
created by SMI and is designed to complement SMI’s other music
holdings, SpinRecords.com and SpinRecords Publishing Company Inc.
Unlike
SpinRecords.com, which accepts only premiere musicians and bands
on its site, SomeMusic.com will be available for developing and
hobbyist musicians to take advantage of online distribution of
their music and to create a Web presence. Those bands that sell
enough CDs or downloadable singles will have the opportunity to
join SpinRecords.com.
"SomeMusic.com is SMI’s first example of the implementation
of their proprietary media delivery technology outside of SpinRecords.com,"
said SMI’s president and CEO, Wayne Irving. "The launching
of SomeMusic.com shows SMI’s ability to create, build, and deploy
a robust online vertical community in a short period of time.
It is these abilities that give SMI the power to compete against
much larger integrated solutions providers for a fraction of the
cost and a fraction of the time."
