LL
Cool J is in
negotiations to star in the action-thriller feature
"Mindhunters" for director Renny Harlin. Production
is slated to begin in November in the Netherlands. The
project will reunite the rapper-actor and the director,
who worked together on the 1999 Warner Bros. feature
"Deep Blue Sea."
The film’s
plot revolves around the FBI’s psychological profiling
division, whose members are referred to as mindhunters,
and involves seven new recruits in training on a remote
island to track serial killers. The
trainees must put theory into practice when it emerges
that a killer is among them. LL Cool J will play the
lead role of Gabe, one of the seven recruits.
LL Cool
J next stars in MGM’s "Rollerball." He also
is attached to star in Dimension Films’ "Dolemite"
and Miramax Films’ "My Baby’s Mama" opposite
John Leguizamo, Lil’ Kim, and Eddie Griffin from a script
co-written by
Griffin. The rapper most recently appeared onscreen
in the film "Kingdom Come."
