Star Is Born." The movie is the story f an upcoming actress who falls in

love with a successful actor, only to surpass him in fame as his own fortunes

begin to fall. The movie has been remade three time. In 1954’s version, it starred

actress Judy Garland (Dorothy in "The Wizard Of OZ,) and in 1976 it featured

Barbara Striesand and Kris Kristofferson.

According to sources, Smith has mentioned the

now single Jennfier Lopez, the enigmatic Lauryn Hill or 5 time Grammy winner

Alicia Keys as possible co-stars with Will Smith. Schumaker is not new to the

urban themed movie. He was a screenwriter for 1976 classic "Car Wash,"

which starred Richard Pryor and George Carlin, "Sparkle," which was

released the same year and featured Irene Cara and 1977’s "The Wiz,"

which starred Michael Jackson, Diana Ross and Richard Pryor.

He also directed such blockbusters as "Batman

Forever," "A Time To Kill" and "The Lost Boys." In
