Rave-rocker Nelly recently commented on the on and off camera altercation between him and Eminem at MTV’s annual Video Music Awards show Thursday. According to the artist, Eminem threatened to assault him off camera as well.

“The truth is that I honestly, in all sincerity, thought that the whole Eminem thing was done in some semblance of humor until Eminem called me a pu**y (that was off camera) and then threatened to beat me up,” Moby said, via his website.

Eminem dissed musical Moby, who was in a previous segment with Triumph The Insult Comic Dog, a hilarious hand puppet. The puppet said, “Poor, poor, poor, poor Moby how could Eminem call you a 36-year-old f#####,” the dog quipped, “First of all, you’re 35 aren’t you? Eminem..let’s talk to him.”

As the puppet, which was linked to a human, went over to Em, the lyricist grabbed the dog, pushing the puppeteer’s arm down.

“Sorry, that lil’ Moby girl threw me out of my zone for a minute,” he said later as he accepted the award for Best Male Video. As the crowd, and apparently Moby, began to hoot, he retorted, “Keep booing, li’l Moby-girl. I will hit a man with glasses.”

Joking he was under anger management therapy, the rapper apologized for the remark after winning Video of the Year for “Without Me.”

Humorously, Moby commented on the near-altercation Em had with Triumph The Insult Comic Dog.

“I love Triumph The Insult Comic Dog and I was more concerned for triumph’s well-being. If eminem wants to pick on someone, fine, pick on me, but don’t diss the dog-puppet,” he said. “Triumph the dog-puppet is my hero. That’s the sole reason that i went to the VMAs”.

Also, Moby said Eminem’s hatred towards him was confusing considering, before the awards show, the pair never met.

“I think that Eminem is talented and interesting but I’m kind of stunned at the anger that he has for me seeing as I’d never met him up until last night.”

The beef between the two started after Moby criticized Em for his homophobic and misogynistic remarks on The Marshall Mathers LP. In “Without Me,” the video that garnered the rapper four VMAs, depicts Moby getting slammed on the ground.
