Jam Master Jay’s funeral has been set for Tuesday,

November 5 at the Allen A.M.E. Cathedral, located at 110-31 Merrick Blvd., in

Saint Albans, Queens from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A wake will be held the day before

at the Jay Foster-Phillips Funeral Home, 179-24 Linden Blvd., Saint Albans,

Queens. There will be a private wake for family and friends from 2 p.m. to 6

p.m. The public will be allowed a viewing from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Mizell will be buried at the Fern Crest Cemetery

located at 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, New York.

The authorities stated that they are confident

they will find the person who killed Jay and pleaded that the community come

forward with any information that may help solve the case come forward.

There have been conflicting reports at to how

the suspects gained access to the studio, known as 24/7 on Merrick Blvd in Queens.

Some say that the studio door was left open, others say that the perpetrators

were buzzed in. Published reports also say that the studio normally videotapes

for security purposes, yet they were not taping the night Jay was shot, leading

to speculation that Jay may have been set up.

Police also dismissed that Jay’s death was related

to any rap rivalry, saying that their only goal was to solve the murder. The

New York post reported a possible link between 50 Cent and Jam Master Jay. 50

worked with Jay before he was signed to Trackmasters/Columbia. 50 Cent canceled

a show in New York, due to what they called a "credible threat" against

the rapper. According to the Post, the rapper is under police protection by

the New York Police Department.

"They’re going to guard them whether they

like it or not, with or without their permission," one source told the

Post. "There won’t be any murder wars here." The police have been

watching him since the night Jay was slain. Police did said that they do not

believe that 50 was the target of Jay’s killers. In addition to 50 Cent, detectives

said that they are protecting other artists who were affiliated with Jay.

"They’re fishing. Everyone’s fishing for

information," said Chris Lighty, 50 Cent’s manager.
