On Thanksgiving Day, various Roc-a-Fella artists

and Jay-Z will perform together in a benefit concert with proceeds going to the

New York City Mission Society’s Team and Jay-Z’s own Scholarship Fund. The concert

will take place at Hammerstein Ballroom at 10:00pm with multi-platinum selling

Jay-Z headlining the show, with special guest appearances.

New York City Mission Society and Roc-A-Fella’s

partnership began in 1998 with a basketball empowerment program called Team

Roc. This program was put into place to provide at-risk youth with the opportunity

to achieve academic excellence, the skills necessary to achieve personal growth,

as well as other programs in education, prevention services and arts. New York

City Mission Society is the city’s oldest private social service agency serving

children and families of Central Harlem and the South Bronx.

In addition, Jay-Z’s final stop as "principal

for a day" is today in San Francisco. He has made stops all over the US

in an effort to promote youth education, as well as his new album The Blueprint

2: The Gift & The Curse. While touring, Jay-Z made stops at schools,

addressed the students and took part in other principal-type activities.

His first double-disc set released by Def Jam,

is the follow-up to last year’s The Blueprint. The new album, led by

"’03 Bonnie & Clyde" featuring Beyonce Knowles, includes additional

guest appearances by Dr. Dre, Rakim, the Neptunes’ Pharrell Williams, Truth

Hurts and Lenny Kravitz.

Jay-Z debuted at number one after the double

disc moved almost 550,000 units in its first week of release.
