Jay-Z will

be the first rapper to perform on pay channel Showtime tonight (Feb.22) during

a pre-fight concert before Mike Tyson fights Clifford Etienne and several acts will join him.

It has been announced that Missy Elliot, M.O.P.,

Beanie Sigel, Freeway and Memphis Bleek will be among the performers to make

appearances during the rapper’s concert.

"I feel like I’m at a point in my career

where my music is opening doors for our culture," Jay-Z told AllHipHop.com.

"It feels to good to be a part of history in the making."

The concert is being held at the Mid South Coliseum

and is the first in a series of musical events that will be presented on the

channel.

"Jay-Z is the perfect performer to kick

off Showtime’s return to the musical event business," Jerry Offsay, Programming

President, Showtime Networks, added. "With the triple threat of Jay-Z,

followed by Mike Tyson, followed by our new series, "Family Business,"

Showtime will display the full range of original "No Limits" programming…for

our subscribers and distribution partners."

The concert kicks off at 9 P.M. EST.
