According to sources, former original Onyx member

Big DS succumbed to cancer on May 22.

DS was part of the group when they released their

first single in 1989 on Profile records, titled "Ah, and We Do It Like

This. "

The original group line up included Big DS, Sticky

Fingaz, Fredro Starr and Sonee Seeza.

After Fredro presented a demo to Jam Master Jay,

the group inked a deal at Def Jam for the "Throw Ya Gunz" EP.

The song was a success and spawned the muilti-platinum

Bacdafucup, which included such hits as "Shifftee," "Slam,"

and "Throw Ya Gunz."

While it remains unclear if DS went to jail,

or left the group, he was no longer a member shortly after the platinum plus

album dropped and released a solo album.
