A woman that was a key prosecution witness during the murder trial of Corey “C-Murder” Miller testified yesterday that she did not see Miller shoot 16-year-old Steve Thomas at a Jefferson Parish, New Orleans night club and witnessed another man with a gun before the shooting.Eloise Matthews testified under oath that she stood on a chair and witnessed Miller beating Thomas but fell and did not witness the shooting. In a new revelation, Matthews claimed that moments before the shooting, she witnessed another man known as “Calliope Slim” with a gun.Matthews alleges she told Jefferson Parish detectives before the trial. When asked why she didn’t reveal this information during the trial, Matthews said that no one asked her.Matthews also testified that her friend, Tenika Rankins said that she had not seen the shooter either.During the trial, Rankins testified that she saw Miller and Thomas arguing and that Miller reached under his shirt and lifted his arm toward Thomas.Rankins said that she did actually see the gun, but saw sparks where the gun would have been, if it were in Miller’s hand.Rankins could not be found to testify yesterday and authorities hope to locate her by January 15, when the hearing is scheduled to resume.Matthews claimed that Detective Donald Clogher cleared her parking tickets and an arrest warrant out for Rankins on felony theft charges was lifted.Miller’s attorney Ron Rakosky said that Rankins criminal record and the clearing of tickets withheld from the defense.District Attorney Doug Freese, said that he was not aware of the criminal records or parking tickets because they were expunged.Miller’s older brother, mogul Percy “Master P.” Williams accused the D.A. of being corrupt.”The whole system there is corrupt, but I think the Judge (Martha Sassone) wants it to change.” Miller told AllHipHop.com. “There are so many witnesses that said C didn’t do this. Look at what the D.A. has done, clearing records and that kind of thing. Everyone assumed he was guilty but people testified he didn’t do it. Now he’s sitting there incarecerated and we believe he’s innocent.”
