Mos Def will give a series of rare Jazz performances at the legendary Blue Note New York restaurant, as part of the “Another Side Series.”The performances, produced by Jill Newman, will take place February 13-15.R&B singers Bilal, Donnie and Nas’ father, accomplished trumpeter Olu Dara, have all been featured in past shows.Mos Def will explore his love of Jazz and the songs that have influenced his life and work.The prolific rapper will be backed by Living Colour’s Will Calhoun on the drums, Grammy Award willing bass player John Benitez and critically acclaimed pianist, Orrin Evans.Other musicians will be announced at a later date.Tickets are priced at $20 – $35 and are available at http://www.bluenotejazz.com/newyork/schedule/moreinfo.cgi?id=1552
