The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network’s (HSAN) Hip-Hop

Summit convened in Los Angeles as part of the All-Star weekend festivities.

Hosted by Damon Dash, the summit continued its

voter registration drive, registering over 60,000 new voters.

"Damon’s running the L.A. Hip-Hop Summit

is an example of how this movement his many leaders and can’t be stopped,"

HSAN founder Russell Simmons told AllHipHop.com.

"The Hip-Hop community is so powerful and,

while some of us have been very successful entrepreneurs, it’s just as important

to acknowledge that we’re part of a larger community," Dash said. "We

can make a difference by doing our part to empower kids to change the world.

Voting is an important step toward that."

Over 40 artists, including Kanye West, Snoop

Dogg and an assortment of NBA players, came out to support the event.
