Rapper Chauncey "Loon" Hawkins was
released this morning on bail after being charged with attempted murder related
to a night club stabbing that left a security guard wounded.
The incident occurred early Friday morning at
the House of Blues in Los Angeles, California, during a release party for Lil
Jon & The Eastside Boys’ new adult DVD series.
Police said that a group of men attempted to
forcefully enter the club and in the ensuing fracas, the security guard was
stabbed in the upper torso
Hawkins, along with two other men, were charged
after the security guard identified them in connection with the stabbing.
Sources told AllHipHop.com that the rapper has
stepped up security since the incident occurred.
Investigators are still seeking to determine
which of the three men stabbed the security guard.
Hawkins, a recording artist for Bad Boy, is recording
the follow up to his debut release Loon.
So far, he has recorded songs with Jamie Foxx,
Omarion (formerly of B2K), and Lil Vicious.
The untitled album is due out on Bad Boy Records
in August.
