Rapper Chauncey "Loon" Hawkins was

released this morning on bail after being charged with attempted murder related

to a night club stabbing that left a security guard wounded.

The incident occurred early Friday morning at

the House of Blues in Los Angeles, California, during a release party for Lil

Jon & The Eastside Boys’ new adult DVD series.

Police said that a group of men attempted to

forcefully enter the club and in the ensuing fracas, the security guard was

stabbed in the upper torso

Hawkins, along with two other men, were charged

after the security guard identified them in connection with the stabbing.

Sources told AllHipHop.com that the rapper has

stepped up security since the incident occurred.

Investigators are still seeking to determine

which of the three men stabbed the security guard.

Hawkins, a recording artist for Bad Boy, is recording

the follow up to his debut release Loon.

So far, he has recorded songs with Jamie Foxx,

Omarion (formerly of B2K), and Lil Vicious.

The untitled album is due out on Bad Boy Records

in August.
