Ghettopoly Files Lawsuit Against Hasbro

ghettopoly

The maker of Ghettopoly has filed a lawsuit against

Hasbro Inc, claiming that he has penalized before it has been determined anything

has been done wrong.

Hasbro, which makes Monopoly, filed their lawsuit

to stop the sales of Ghettopoly, claiming trademark and copyright infringement.

Chang says the game is a parody of Hip-Hop culture and that at least 100 other

games end in "opoly."

As a result of Hasbro’s cease-and-desist order,

Chang said he’s been stopped from selling the game before it can go to court,

due to a cease-and-desist letter that Hasbro sent to Urban Outfitters, who agreed

to carry the controversial board game.

Almost 1,000 Ghettopoly games are in a warehouse

and any new stock is confiscated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents.

Ghettopoly features such game pieces as a 40

oz, a hoe and pimp, counterfeit money, a basketball and crack. Users must buy

stolen property, build crack houses and pay protection fees.
