The first annual Vancouver International Hip-Hop Film Festival kicks off today
(September 1st) and will run until September 5th.
The VIHF will showcase some of the best Hip-Hop films available, including
the legendary movie “Wildstyle,” whose director Charlie Ahearn will
present a slide show.
Tonight’s first event takes place tonight with performances by rising
rappers Masia One, Mr. Monze, Sonz of Sunz, Butta Babees, The No Luck Club and
MC Kia Kadiri.
Other flicks being screened include the documentary Cuban Hip-Hop All Stars,
Freestyle: The Art of Rhyme, One Love – The Game, The Life, Hip-Hop H###’s,
Pass the Mic and others.
The event will be capped by a panel, “360 Degrees: Hip Hop Panel"
at the Scotia Bank Dance Center.
