With their debut album,

Connected, hitting shelves only a few weeks ago, the members of Foreign

Exchange, Phonte of Little Brother and producer Nicolay, aren’t waiting

very long for their next collaboration.

“We’re

working together again on this singer’s project named Darien Brockington,”

Phonte told Allhiphop.com from his home in North Carolina.

Many fans of Foreign

Exchange will know Brockington from the stand out track “Come Around,”

that appears on the group’s Connected LP. A native of North Carolina,

Brockington attended high school with Phonte and has done back up vocals for

artist YahZarah.

“Me and Nic

are overseeing his project. Nic is doing a lot of the tracks and I’m helping

Darien with some song writing and vocal arrangements,” said Phonte.

Brockington has

appeared on numerous songs in the past several months to build his experience

and gain valuable exposure.

“I put him

on the Pete Rock joint, and he did the Okayplayer song called “On and

On,” said Phonte of Brockington’s recent work. “I just kept

putting him on records, giving him the John Legend treatment.”

Phonte will executive

produce the as yet untitled R&B project.

In related news,

Foreign Exchange will perform as part of The Connected Tour, which also features

Little Brother, Big Pooh, YahZarah, L.e.g.a.c.y and Away Team. The tour kicks

off in Richmond, Virginia tonight (September 30th).
