According to reports
and months of chattering, Kanye West has landed a label deal with the newly merged
Sony/BMG record label. The name of the venture is reportedly Getting Out Our Dreams.
The critically acclaimed producer/rapper also entered into a production agreement
with the major. West remains signed as an artist to Roc-A-Fella.
Snoop Dogg and
Pharrell will perform their latest release, "Drop It Like It’s Hot"
at The 32nd Annual American Music Awards. The single is the first shot off Snoop
Dogg’s highly anticipated venture with The Neptunes’ Star Trak label
and is taken from his upcoming album, R&G: Rhythm and Gangsta.
Usher, Kanye West, Twista and others are also expected to perform. The AMA’s
air November 14th.
Ma$e recently collaborated
with Ciara, known for her hit single “My Goodies.” The two will
appear on a remix of Ma$e’s “Keep It On,” which encourages
girls to keep their goodies covered up. The remix will also feature an appearance
by Sean “P. Diddy” Combs.
Eminem will pick
up the expenses for the funeral of his uncle Todd Nelson, who committed suicide
last week. Nelson allegedly shot himself after quarreling with a neighbor over
a Rottweiler dog in Michigan. The 42-year-old reportedly helped raise the rapper,
after his father walked out when Eminem was a baby. Reports suggested that Nelson
was struggling financially. Betty Kresin, Nelson’s mother and Eminem’s
Grandmother, said Nelson would be laid to rest in his home state of Missouri.
