Afroman is preparing

to release Jobe Bells, a twelve-song compilation of holiday spoofs on

his own Hungry Hustler Records.

Songs like “Deck

My Balls,” “Violent Night,” “Chronic Tree,” and

“The 12 J’s of Christmas” are amongst the tracks of humorous

holiday content on the project.

Produced by Po

Boy and the 2 Zigg Zaggs (Afroman’s back-up group), Jobe Bells

takes you back to the childhood days of school time joking on Christmas carols.

Most of the album

was penned when Afroman was a high school student. He said the album was “a

black dude’s version of Christmas in South Central.”

“The holiday

season is about laughter and happiness, and this will bring you both by the

bucketful, especially if your holiday season is a bit bleak, and mine were pretty

much like that a lot of the time,” Afroman said. “I grew up in South

Central so I had to make comedy out of whatever I had.”

The rapper said

the album is not meant to slight the Christmas holiday, he wants to bring a

bit of humor back to the rap industry.

“I’m

a funny rapper – I’m peaceful. I don’t rap about killing people,”

Afroman continued. “I find light-hearted things to rap about, and I’d

rather make people laugh. I represent the average person that likes to just

go out and drink a beer, smoke a joint, laugh, dance and go home.”

Afroman is currently

on tour promoting Afroholic, the follow-up to The Good Times,

the album that contained Afroman’s biggest hit, “Because I Got High.”

The Good Times

sold over 1.8 million copies worldwide. Jobe Bells will be released

November 30th.
