Roc-A-Fella CEO Jay-Z and the promoter of the Best of Both Worlds have decided to cancel the series in lieu of continuing with R&B singer R.Kelly in New York, according to reps from the rapper’s camp.

Instead, the Brooklyn lyricist has decided to offer fans a “Jay-Z and Special Guests” show at the Continental Airlines Arena on Oct. 30, 31 and Nov. 1. The show will offer a bevy of unnamed celebrities. Last night, Mary J. Blige, Usher and Ja Rule performed at Madison Square Garden.

Fans that don’t want the present package, minus Kelly, can get a full refund by going to the place where they purchased their ticket.

Through a statement, Jay’s publicist Jana Fleishman stated, “Jay-Z wants to make sure he doesn’t disappoint his fans and gives them the best show possible.” No definitive information for the rest of the tour beyond New York City has been relayed from either side.

R.Kelly, who stated previously that he wanted to continue the tour, expressed disappointment.

“The fans deserve better than this,” Kelly said in a statement. “I’d like the show to go on. It’s really disappointing that Jay-Z and the promoter don’t.”

Kelly alleges that he was pepper-sprayed last night by a member of Jay-Z’s camp as he tried to make his way back to the stage, after announcing that two men in the crowd brandished guns.

According to sources, R.Kelly was seen going towards the Madison Square Garden venue. Similarly, at press time, many fans were still making the pilgrimage to MSG to see the Best of Both Words tour.
