member Layzie Bone has announced plans to release a solo album titled It’s

Not a Game. The Cleveland, Ohio native’s latest release is the follow up

to 2001’s Mo Thug Family Presents: Thug By Nature, which was recorded

under his alias, L Burner. The 20-track collection features appearances by Twista,

Krayzie Bone, WC and Snoop Dogg, who appears on the song "Smokin’ On Information,"

a retrospective look at the lives the two rappers have led. "We’re taking

in life, everything that’s comes with life," Layzie said of the song. "We

get high on life and we’re talking about that." The album features production

by Platinum Bros., Darren Vegas, Thin C, Mauly T, Denzo and Dennis Johnson.

It’s Not a Game drops May 31, 2005 on X-Ray Records.

Jay-Z and New York

Knicks star Jamal Crawford have teamed up with Reebok to debut a new basketball

shoe as part of Jay-Z’s S. Carter Collection. The S. Carter Basketball Mid,

launched today (March 4), will be worn on court during the 2004-05 season by

several NBA athletes, including Crawford and Denver Nuggets star Kenyon Martin.

To promote the new collection, Reebok has also launched a 30-second commercial,

featuring Jay and Crawford. More information on the new S. Carter Basketball

Mid, selling at a suggested retail price of $85, is available at scarteracademy.com.

Russell Simmons

is launching a new series dedicated to the practice of Yoga titled “Russell

Simmons Presents Yoga Live.” The video series is lead by three top yogis

who teach based on the physical (Asana) practice of yoga. The DVD series offers

a complete fitness system that will show users how to improve muscle tone, accelerate

weight loss, increase flexibility and improve their mental clarity. “All

life happens in the present,” Simmons told AllHipHop.com. “You will

never exist outside of the present. The yoga practice is about living in heaven

on earth.” The DVD hits stores later this month.

More than 20 acts

will hit the stage at Radio One and AG Entertainment’s 3rd Annual Spring

Fest 2005, which is taking place in Miami. The weekend will feature various

celebrity parties and performances by such rapper’s as The Game, Fat Joe,

Trick Daddy, TI, Trillville and others. The event also features a concert hosted

by Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, Jermaine Dupri and La La at the Bayfront

Amphitheater. The festival runs April 29th-May 1.

50 Cent will star

in “50 Cent: Bulletproof,” his own videogame that allows users to

navigate through the violent drug underworld, taking on rival crime families.

"In everything I do, I play to win," 50 said in a statement released

today (March 4). "I’m out to destroy the competition and my video game

is no different. It’s a fantasy version of my life. I plan to shake up the video

game world like I did the rap world — I’m pulling no punches with my game."

“50 Cent: Bulletproof” is produced by Vivendi Universal Games, hits

stores in late 2005.
