Jadakiss reached a plea
agreement with the Cumberland County Court yesterday (March 24) at a misdemeanor
hearing stemming from an incident in North Carolina, that ended with the rapper
being hit with marijuana and gun possession charges. Kiss was given deferred
prosecution after he passed a drug test and under the agreement, the Yonkers,
New York native must submit to searches and random drug tests. He must avoid
any trouble in North Carolina and cannot use, nor possess illegal drugs. Jadakiss
also paid $900 in court costs. The rapper was charged last July after a club
performance in Fayetteville. Officers spotted a man throwing firecrackers from
the window of the vehicle. A subsequent search turned up less than an ounce
of marijuana and two loaded .45 Ruger pistols.
Fat Joe’s latest album All
or Nothing has been pushed back, while his label tries to clear samples for
songs on the album. Joe’s highly anticipated album has been pushed back for
a third time to May 24. The Bronx rapper’s label cited "sample clearance
issues" as the reason for the holdup. The most recent release date for
All or Nothing, Joe’s sixth solo album, was April 26.
Rumors have been circulating
that Sean "P. Diddy" Combs signed "American Idol" contestant
Mario Vasquez, who unexpectedly dropped out of the nationally televised singing
competition over a week ago. But Diddy has neither confirmed nor denied signing
Vasquez to Bad Boy Records. "I can’t really have any comment on that at
this time," Diddy told the New York Post. "We’re hopefully about to
announce our plans for our next era." If Vasquez, 28, had won, he would
have signed with RCA Records, but the New York native is committed to "American
Idol" until the show ends in May. Vasquez cited "personal reasons"
for quitting the show.
Nas and Fabolous have been
tapped to perform for the University of Connecticut’s Spring Weekend, according
to Daily Campus. Six thousand general admission and floor tickets will be available
at $10 per student and $30 for guests. U. Conn’s Spring Weekend has previously
hosted rappers 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Kanye West and Ludacris.
