Production duo Trak

Starz [Zo and Sham] are gearing up to release their debut album Star Studded

on the Trak Starz/Blackground Records.

The duo has tracked hits for such stars as Chingy, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Britney

Spears, Ludacris and others and the release in the first under a joint venture

that the pair inked with Blackground Records.

"We came together [with Blackground CEO Barry Hankerson] through an A&R

we knew and bonded over the visions for what we plan to do with upcoming superstars

and what he has already done for artists like R. Kelly, Aaliyah and Toni Braxton,”

Zo told AllHipHop.com. “We just grew from there."

Star Studded which will feature guest appearances from Lil’ Jon, Timbaland,

David Banner, Juvenile, Twista, Chingy, Nate Dogg, Bun B. and others.

The first single is "Take

it Off," which features STL and T Deep, the first artists signed to the

Trak Starz label.

"Trak Starz Records will definitely show what it is we have set out to

do in this music business," Sham told AllHipHop.com. “Our first artists

STL and T Deep are both representing where we are from [St. Louis, Missouri]

and they are definitely going to make their presence known as they start to

make noise."

In addition to their upcoming album, Trak Starz are also hard at work on numerous

production projects for Nas, Ludacris, E-40, Chingy and Janet Jackson.

The two are also co-writing with Babyface for the Aretha Franklin

Duets album, working with Franklin and Beyonce Knowles, as well as scoring an

urban dance movie currently in production, called “Behind the Groove.”

"We are just keeping it moving," Zo said. “The music for this

movie will not be like that for any film out. The movie is about a 17-year-old

dancer and the trials dealing with her life and her dream; and we felt that,

so really wanted to set this movie apart from other films. But the music will

still be somewhat contemporary."

No release date for either project was available at press time.
