Wyclef Jean has teamed with

writers Danny Hoch and Seth Rosenfeld to create a comedy series for HBO based

on the Haitian born rapper/singer’s life. Jean is a member of the recently

reunited platinum selling Hip-Hop group, The Fugees. While the group was on

hiatus, Jean enjoyed success as a solo artist, earning seven RIAA gold and platinum

certifications for his solo albums The Carnival and The Ecleftic:

2 Sides II A Book. Jean will also provide music for the series. Hoch’s

writing and acting credits for television and film include “Bamboozled,”

“Washington Heights,” “Prison Song,” “Subway Stories,”

“Thin Red Line,” “Whiteboys,” “Blackhawk Down,”

“Some People” and “Jails, Hospitals & Hip-Hop.”

Rosenfeld’s acting and directing credits include “King of the Jungle,”

“A Brother’s Kiss,” “Subway Stories,” and “Sunset

Park.”

Eminem’s publishing

company Eight Mile Style is suing five companies selling his ringtones without

authorization. The chart topping rapper is suing Fanmobile, Myphonefiles, Nextones.com,

Maxtrixm and Cellus USA for violating copyright laws. Eight Mile claims the

companies are selling ringtones by Eminem and Dr. Dre on the internet illegally.

Eminem’s publishers said they would target karaoke companies offering

the rappers material as well.

50 Cent is finishing the

soundtrack to his feature film debut, “Get Rich Or Die Tryin’.”

Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture Get Rich Or Die Tryin’

is slated to hit stores on November 8 and the movie hits theatres the following

day, November 9. The soundtrack will feature all new material from 50 Cent and

the entire roster of artists signed to G Unit Records. "I created the music

for the soundtrack while I was actually filming the movie. I had a studio trailer

with me and would record every day between takes," 50 Cent said. "I

keep telling you, I’m the hardest working man alive." The album features

production by Dr. Dre and Hi-Tek and is executive produced by Sha Money XL and

Dr. Dre.

The LA Symphony

recently dropped their latest album, Disappear Here on Gotee Records.

The album features group members CookBook, FLYNN, Sharlok Poems, UNO Mas, and

Joey the Jerk alongside, madlib, MURS and Grammy nominated singer Tonex. The

album also features production by Evidence and DJ Rhettmatic of the World Famous

Beat Junkies. The group is currently on a West Coast tour, opening for the Alkoholiks.
