Hip-Hop group Lords of the Underground are preparing to release their long awaited album titled House of Lords.
The group, which released hits like “Chief Rocka” “Here Comes the Lords” and “Return of the Funky Child,” will drop the new album on Affluent Records/Redeye Distribution.
“In today’s market, there are great opportunities for artists to grow as businessmen,” said Affluent Records’ CEO Oscar Sanchez. “Affluent hopes to supply an outlet for them. Affluent’s hope is to also provide a safe-house where Hip-Hop and Urban music can be preserved and where it will be able to flourish.”
The Lords of the Underground have also placed a replica all access pass to the first Hip-Hop event by pioneer Kool Herc inside of one of the CD’s.
The winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to the South of France to see the Lords of the Underground give an exclusive performance.
Lords of the Underground’s best known album Here Come The Lords hit stores in 1992 and the group followed with Keepers of the Funk, which was released in 1994.
The group broke up, but reunited briefly for their album Resurrection, which was released in 1999.
Since then, Group members have remained active outside of actually rapping.
Lords of the Underground member Dooitall is an actor and was featured in the final episode of The Sopranos, while DJ Lord Jazz, is an on air personality and producer of his show The Connection, which airs in Paris and in the UK.
The group is also preparing to release their documentary Still L.O.T.U.G, which features tour footage of the group from around the world.
House of Lords hits stores August 21.
