Comedian Paul Mooney and Ed Lover will host this year’s Hip Hop Odyssey Awards tonight (June 16) at BB Kings in New York.
The evening is dedicated to celebrating the winning filmmakers of the Hip Hop Odyssey International Film Festival, Hip-Hop Legends, and media trailblazers.
The award show is the finale event of the Hip Hop Odyssey International Film Festival (H2OIFF), which celebrated five years of Hip-Hop Cinema, Education, Art, and Culture at the ImaginAsian Theatre, M 1-5, and the Tribeca Cinemas last week.
Talent slated to perform include Super Natural, Consequence, Styles P, Safahri Rha, Nyoil, Kazi, P Star, Beatbox Ent., Tres Coronas, Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai, La Bruja, Toni Blackman, Aja-Monet, K Banger, and Abiodun from The Last Poets.
Hip-Hop celebrities legends like Ice-T, Ralph McDaniels, Charlie Ahearn, Ernest Dickerson and more will pay tribute to the Cold Crush, Crash Crew, and Public Enemy during the evening.
Presenters include: Fab 5 Freddy, Davey D, Rosa Clemente, Joe Conzo, Dana Dane, Warrington Hudlin, Michaela Davis, Rob Swift, Cipha Sounds, Roxanne Shante’ and many more.
