Disturbing Tha Peace CEO Ludacris will among the many artists performing at the Live Earth Concert in New York tomorrow (July 7).

The 24-hour, 7 continent concert benefits global warming research and takes place in various countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, China, Brazil, Australia, South Africa, Japan, and Germany.

Ludacris’ involvement in the concert came about during a chance meeting with former vice-president and global warming activist Al Gore.

“When I went to the Oscars, I ran into Al Gore and he had won an award for his documentary [An Inconvenient Truth] about global warming,” Ludacris told AllHipHop.com. “He started talking about how he wanted me to be a part of a concert coming up….and like everyone else, I don’t know all of the specifics about global warming, but I do understand the problem and I’ve really started to discipline myself about it.”

Other artists set to perform include Akon, AFI, Alicia Keys, David Bowie, Dave Matthews, Kanye West, John Mayer and many more.

Partners for the event MSN, NBC, and MTV. Over a billion people are expected to watch the show.

“I definitely feel like the concert is beneficial. It’s making people conscience of what’s going on in and around the world,” the Grammy Award-winning Hip-Hop artist said.

The entire event is focused on raising awareness about the serious effects of global warming and to encourage people to make changes in their daily routines, by walking instead of driving, using more fuel-efficient cars, and not smoking.

Live Earth airs live around the world on 7.7.07.
