Brooklyn rapper Fabolous will headline the 11th Annual Fully Loaded concert, which takes place July 29 on James Bond Beach in Oracabesssa, Jamaica. Fabolous will perform selections from his latest album From Nothing to Something, which features the hit single Make Me Better featuring Ne-Yo. Last year’s event featured performances by Rick Ross, Wyclef Jean, Sizzla Kalonji, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Lady Saw and others.

A record 10 million people watched the Live Earth concert series on the Internet, setting a new record for online viewing of a live concert. Live Earth, which took place on seven continents across the globe on Saturday (July 7). Rappers like Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, The Beastie Boys, Kanye West, Black Eyed Peas and others took part in the massive concert series, which was aimed at raising awareness about the global warming crisis. Over 2 billion people and 100 of the world’s best known artists took part in Live Earth. Over 10,000 cities in 130 countries hosted smaller “Friends of Live Earth” concerts, to show support for the movement.

The Philadelphia chapter of The Recording Academy will host Philadelphia Music Week, from July 9-15. The event will feature a schedule of activities, performances and events that showcasing the city’s artists and venues. The week has a number of activities geared towards Hip-Hop enthusiasts, including a “Hiphop Saves Our City” meeting, a film screening of The Hip-Hop Project, a concert featuring Patti LaBelle, a workshop geared towards producers, a performance by Femi Kuti and a Hip-Hop/Soul Music Appreciation night at Rock Lobster on Delaware Avenue featuring the Skratch Makaniks Crew and the IllVibe Collective. The Roots and pioneering rapper Big Daddy Kane will hit the road as part of VH1’s 1st Annual Hip Hop Honors tour, which kicks off this September. The 15-date tour kicks off at the House of Blues in San Francisco on Sept. 13 and ends Oct. 5 at the Nokia Theater in New York, in conjunction with VH1s’s Third Annual Hip Hop Honors event. The Roots are currently on a worldwide tour in support of their latest album, Game Theory. The critically acclaimed Hip-Hop band’s next stop is Germany, where they will play three dates, before moving on to the Netherlands for an appearance at the North Sea Jazz Festival.
