Houston rapper Chamillionaire is focusing on his upcoming profanity-free album Ultimate Victory and is brushing off media hype caused by disparaging comments made by rapper 50 Cent.
Chamillionaire dismissed recent remarks made by 50 Cent in a recent interview with Spin magazine.
“Let him [Chamillionaire] go sell gospel records, if he’s so f***in’ righteous,” an agitated 50 Cent told Spin magazine in response to rappers cleaning up their lyrics. “I can write around the curses if I want to, but you can’t tell me to write around the curses.”
Chamillionaire, who recently released his street album Mixtape Messiah 3, vowed not waste his creative energies engaged in a feud.
“There are way more interesting things to talk about, besides, beef and dissing people,” Chamillionaire told AllHipHop.com. “I’ma leave that to everybody else. There was a time were the Hip-Hop battle was cool, cause it was lyrical or whatever, but now, its stale, people used it as a gimmick.”
Instead, Chamillionaire will use his album as a platform to express his opinions on a number of subject’s, including President George W. Bush.
“On a record called ‘Evening News’ I’m speaking from the stand point of a newscaster,” Chamillionaire revealed. “I talk about Kobe Bryant, OJ, to Bush, to Katrina, I just shot a video for it. People will see it real soon.”
Chamillionaire’s hopes Ultimate Victory will raise the bar in Hip-Hop music and set him apart from his peers, creatively.
“Creatively, people are doing the same stuff,” Chamillionaire said. “People need to set their own paths. Even with the labels, putting out the same stuff, and look at what’s happening to the music! But I’m not feeling that, I’ll continue to do what I want to do. Even if it goes against the grain or whatever I gotta do what I do.”
Ultimate Victory is due in stores September 18.
