East Hampton town officials in East Hampton, New York have turned down a proposed $100,000 fireworks show planned by mogul/actor/rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.

According to the Associated Press, Combs was planning an extravagant display of all-white pyrotechnic fireworks over East Hampton’s Northwest Harbor on September 2, to compliment his annual “White Party.”

The fireworks permit was turned down due to concerns that the display could attract boaters to an unsafe part of the Northwest Harbor to witness the spectacle.

Town Supervisor William McGintee also told the AP that the fireworks may have conflicted with another previously planned show taking place on the same night.

Combs does have a permit for his “White Party,” which will take place by invitation only, at his Hampton estate.
