The producers of the upcoming biopic Notorious have shot down reports that R&B singer Sean Kingston has landed the role of the slain Hip-Hop icon Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace.
A number of outlet reported earlier today that the “Beautiful Girls” singer was playing the role of Wallace in the movie Notorious, which is being executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs and produced by Voletta Wallace and former managers Mark Pitts and Wayne Barrow.
Kingston himself expressed enthusiasm about the chance to play Notorious B.I.G. after his audition.
While Kingston is being considered to play B.I.G. on the screen, producer Wayne Barrow denied that Kingston landed the starring role in the film.
“As producers of the biopic Notorious, we felt compelled to quell the various false media reports indicating Sean Kingston has landed the coveted role of portraying ‘The Notorious B.I.G’ in the upcoming film,” Wayne Barrow told AllHipHop.com. “The role for B.I.G is 100% open and we are diligently searching for the individual to seize the moment and fill those giant shoes of greatness, everyone is being considered, including Sean Kingston but no one has been chosen.”
Producers for Notorious include B.I.G.’s mother Voletta Wallace and his former managers Mark Pitts and Wayne Barrow, while George Tillman will direct the film, which was written by journalists Cheo Hodari Coker and Reggie Rock Bythewood.
Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace was shot and killed in on March 9, 1997 in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles, just six months after rap rival Tupac Shakur was cut down in hail of bullets in Las Vegas.
Both murders remains unsolved.
