R&B duo Nina Sky recently inked a deal with Polo Grounds Music to release their delayed sophomore album The Musical.
The Musical features production from Scott Storch, Cool and Dre, Cipha Sounds, Salaam Remi, Ryan Leslie and The Jetsons, while rapper Rick Ross and R&B crooner Trey Songz make guest appearances.
The album contains the original material recorded while Nina Sky was signed to Universal as well as several new songs for fans.
“We are excited to be apart of the Polo Grounds Music/J Records family,” said Nicole of Nina Sky. “We can’t wait to begin working with Bryan [Leach] on our new album because he understands the Nina Sky movement. We are confident that, together, we can take our project to the next level.”
Nina Sky hit big with their 2004 single “Move Ya Body,” which landed at # 4 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
Polo Grounds founder and CEO Bryan Leach believes the girls can recreate their previous success.
“We are on a roll right now, but it gets no better than signing an act of this caliber,” Leach said of his label’s roster, which includes Hurricane Chris, C-Ride, Avery Storm and others.
“Nicole & Natalie are just getting started with their careers so we’re lucky and excited to have them as part of our PGM family,” Leach said.
The Musical is due in stores in early 2008 on Polo Grounds/J Records.
