Rapper Talib Kweli will reunite with his Black Star group mate Mos Def next month as they headline this year’s Esurance ICER Air festival.

The duo will perform Nov. 3 on the center stage at AT&T Park during the big-air competition.

For ICER Air founder and president Glen Griffin, Talib Kweli and Mos Def represent a significant milestone in the history of the event.

Described as an action sports, music and lifestyle event, Esurance ICER Air drew 15,000 people in its Sept. 29, 2005 debut as the first-ever urban big air ski and snowboard competition.

The one-day event, which was held on Filmore Street in San Francisco, relocated to AT&T Park the following year and transformed into a showcase for BMX, skate and wakeboard performances and competitions while highlighting the ski and snowboard competition.

“We are thrilled to have Mos Def and Talib Kweli onboard as our headliners this year,” Griffin said in a statement. “They are incredibly talented performers who evoke the free-spirited, urban authenticity of Icer Air. In just three years, this event has gone from a crazy idea of bringing snow to Fillmore Street to a two-day action sports, music and lifestyle celebration. The fun and excitement that our musical guests bring to Esurance Icer Air will be of central importance to the continued evolution and success of the event.”

This year’s ICER Air will expand to two days as it features multi-venue series of events, action sports, concerts and parties.

In addition to Kweli and Mos Def, festival attendees will see opening act DJ Spider and Team Canada’s DJ Scene and DJ Morse Code, who will kick off the event on Nov. 2 at AT&T Park with a performance at the ICER Village.

Competing athletes will be also be featured as well as a second venue, freestyle motocross, a skate and BMX park, wakeboarding, 60 vendors and exhibitors, a beer garden and a second concert stage.

Tickets for the Esurance ICER Air festival start at $10.
