With the second installment of its Anthem brand campaign set to debut later this month, Boost Mobile is enlisting the help of rapper Young Jeezy and producer/music mogul Jermaine Dupri.
The pair will be featured in a 3D animated music video-style Boost Mobile commercial along with Hip-Hop rocker Mickey Avalon.
The ad, which is directed by critically-acclaimed music video and film director Chris Robinson, is part of Boost Mobiles Anthem 2.0 campaign.
According to sources, the campaign will highlight “levels” or “stages” of success, while incorporating Boost Mobiles latest pay-as-you-go handset, the Motorola i425.
Dupri will represent someone at the top of his game as a superstar and innovator in the music business, while Young Jeezy personifies the period of steadily building an entertainment empire one hit at a time.
Avalon will round out the scenario as the newcomer on the brink of superstardom.
The Anthem 2.0 clip is the follow up to Boost Mobiles first Anthem commercial, which originally debuted at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2004 and featured rappers Kanye West, Ludacris and The Game, rhyming while using the BoostSM Walkie Talkie service.
For the new ad, Robinson capitalized on the growing trend of merging the Hip-Hop and motion graphics industries by using 2D and 3D animation to bring the lyrics and words of an original track for the commercial produced by Dupri. Fans of the ad can download the song, which will feature vocals from Dupri, Young Jeezy and Avalon, as an exclusive ringtone from www.boostmobile.com.
A portion of the proceeds from the ringtone sales will be donated to a national non-profit organization to be announced at a later date. Boost Mobile’s Anthem 2.0 commercial will begin airing Nov. 26 on MTV, BET, FUSE, SPIKE and other youth-oriented national networks.
