Sneak(er) Peek: Gil II ZERO

This hurts, literally. After making it back from season ending knee surgery, Gilbert Arenas is back on the shelf for another three months. Despite a slow start to the season Agent Zero had finally come into form, scoring 30 and 27 points against the Indiana Pacers and Minnesota Timberwolves,  respectively. But after the Minnesota game his left knee swelled up and tests revealed that Gil’s once again needed surgery. This of course will give Washington Wizards couch Eddie Jordan restless nights while the rest of the Eastern conference get cut some slack and sneakerheads won’t be able to see Arenas debut a number of the special edition kicks he has in stash for the season. Teaming with Adidas, Gil was prepped to debut twenty different varieties of his Gil II ZEROs signature shoes throughout the season. Tonight (Nov. 23) he was supposed to debut the “CUST0MIZE” special make up of his shoe while playing against the Golden State Warriors. The shoe is a direct tie in with Adidas Impossible is Nothing campaign (you know, the commercial where Arenas is drawing). Sold with a dry erase marker, wearers will be able to display their own messages on their shoes. Throughout December Gil was supposed to debut a number of shoes on the hardwood including the AGENT ZERO and the NBA LIVE ’08 special makes up. While fantasy owners weep, hopefully Gil can make it back to the full strength sometime in March. Until then, you could always just rock his kicks with respect…  GIL II ZERO X CUST0MIZE (above)Also dropping today is the TS Lightswitch (above). This lo version of the shoes also worn by the like of Tracy McGrady and Chauncey Billups are basically the home and away version of the Gil II ZERO’s Arenas will normally wear without his fancy schmancy customizations.
