Hip-Hop star Chamillionaire will make an appearance on Larry King Live tonight on CNN. The Houston, Texas born rapper will be on the show to discuss the return of shock jock Don Imus, who returned to the air today (December 3), after being fired from CBS radio in April for calling the Rutgers University womens basketball team a bunch of “nappy headed hos.” “I will never say anything in my lifetime that will make any of these young women at Rutgers regret or feel foolish that they accepted my apology and forgave me, and no one else will say anything on my program that will make anybody think that I didnt deserve a second chance,” Imus said as he opened his show today. Imus also has two black side kicks on his new show, comedians Karith Foster and Tony Powell. Chamillionaire spoofed a CNN anchorman in his hit video “Hip-Hop Police/The Evening News,” which is taken from his album Ultimate Victory. Chamillionaire is currently preparing his latest release, Mixtape Messiah 4, which his due in stores December 18.
St. Louis rapper Chingy will officially reunite with Disturbing Tha Peace when he drops his album Hate or Love It, on December 18th. The rappers fourth album features a variety of artists, including Amerie, Ice Cube, Diamond of Crime Mob, Anthony Hamilton. Producers featured on the album include Full Scale, Cool & Dre, Calvo Da Gr8., Bei Maejor and others recorded the album in a number of cities, including Atlanta, and Miami, Los Angeles, London, and Texas. The rapper said the album reflects his diverse taste in music. “I also listen to my share of old school music,” he says, “so I know as much about Luther Vandross as I do about NWA.”
Fuse TV’s Videos That Rocked The World series will highlight Public Enemy’s classic 1989 video “Fight The Power.” The episode will showcase the cultural significance of the video, as well as the impact the video has made, leading it be ranked as “the most influential Hip-Hop music video in history” by Fuse TV. The video for the song was shot by famed director Spike Lee, who directed the video and included the song in his hit movie Do The Right Thing. Videos That Rocked The World: Fight The Power debuts Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 10pm on Fuse TV.
Online street fashion retailer DrJays.com is giving the public a chance to be the center of attention with its new model search contest Fresh Faces of Spring 2008. Those interested in taking part in the competition are required to upload their 30-second video entry on to the site. Two winners one male, one female will then be flown to New York City in January to shoot the DrJays.com Spring 2008 fashion campaign, in addition to receiving additional major prizes. According to DrJays.coms content manager Simone Kapsalides, the model search provides a way for the site to connect with visitors. “Fresh Faces of Spring was created in response to the overwhelming feedback we receive from our customers, who contact us daily looking for the chance to appear on the site.” Deadline to submit entries for the Fresh Faces of Spring model search contest is Jan. 9, 2008. Winners will be announced 14 days later.
