Wayans Brothers Get Hip-Hop Comedy On VH1

The Wayans brothers will launch a new show on VH1 titled The Life and Times of Marcus ‘Felony’ Brown, a scripted, Hip-Hop comedy.

 

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Keenan, Marlon and Shawn are executive producing the one-hour series along with the Wayans’ manager, Lisa Suzanne Blum of Modus Entertainment and their longtime producing partner Rick Alvarez.

 

The show will be directed by Marcus Raboy and stars Darius McCrary as “Felony,” a hardcore rapper from the East coast who is forced to record the follow up to his platinum debut in Los Angeles.

 

McCrary has starred in TV shows and movies like Family Matters, Kingdom Come and Girlfriends.

 

Felony brings his entourage with him, which includes “E-Z,” played by Vince Green (Barbershop, Half & Half), “Cash,” played by Jon Abrahams (Meet The Parents), his party animal bodyguard “Tiny,” played by Marcello Thedford (Monk, Puff, Puff, Pass) and Felony’s personal assistant “Tia,” played by Toni Trucks (Barbershop, Veronica Mars).

 

The first pilot recently finished shooting and was written and directed by Xavier Cook, who has written films like Friday after Next and White Girls.
