Representatives for UGK member Chad “Pimp C.” Butler have come forward to address rumors spreading about his upcoming funeral and when and where it will take place.
While various reports have suggested that the rapper will be laid to rest this weekend in Houston, sources told AllHipHop.com that the rappers final resting place will be his hometown of Port Arthur, Texas.
His management confirmed that funeral arrangements are currently being made to hold the funeral on Thursday (December 13) at a yet-to-be-announced location.
A formal statement will be issued on Monday confirming the location of Pimp Cs funeral, which is expected to draw thousands of fans and supporters.
Pimp C., 33, was found dead in his hotel bed at Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles on Tuesday (December 5), just weeks shy of his 34th birthday.
While the Department of the Coroner is awaiting an official toxicology report to determine the cause of Pimp C.s death, investigators believe that the rapper died of natural causes in his sleep.
In related news, UGKs hit single “International Players Anthem (I Choose You)” was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group category, just days after his death.
The single is taken from UGKs album Underground Kingz, which debuted at #1 on Billboards Top 200 Albums Chart in August.
