Mississippi rapper David Banner has been added to the cast of the upcoming movie The Comeback, which also stars veteran rapper/actor Ice Cube.

Ice Cube’s Cubevison Productions is producing The Comeback, which will be directed by former Limp Bizkit lead singer, Fred Durst.

The Comeback is based on the true story of a former high school football star (played by Ice Cube) who takes his niece under his wing, as she becomes the first female quarterback in Pop Warner football history.

The 11-year-old quarterback, Jasmine Plummer, led her team to the Pop Warner tournament and became the first female to play in the tournament’s 56-year history.

David Banner, who will play the role Maurice Hall, has been taking acting classes to strengthen his skills on the big screen.

“I want that Will Smith money,” Banner said.

In addition to the upcoming film, which is due out later this year, Banner is also planning to release his fourth solo album, The Greatest Story Ever Told, which is due out later this year.
