Tech Talk: Virtual Fitness

wii_fit225

In the year 2008, we do a lot of the same things our parents

and grandparents did 50 years ago to pass the time.

Some of us watch TV; some of us like to work out to keep in

shape; while others still like to curl up with a good book. But something has

changed… you can watch almost anything you want when you want and the picture

quality is a zillion times better than it used to be. Ok, maybe not a zillion,

but you can’t front, it’s a lot better than that TV with the dials that your

mother called you in from playing to change the channel when she was sitting

right there.

Exercise is now virtual and books are digital.  Take a look at what I’m talking about.

A lot of you got these new shiny HD TV’s, and a lot of you

got these iPods full of video and pics. Why not combine the two? The HomeDock HD from DLO lets you do just

that.

For best picture, connect via HDMI cable and it upscales

(converts standard def to high def) iPod video to 1080i or 720p. With its

optical digital audio output, users are ensured a completely digital iPod

experience. Even if you don’t have an HDTV, all the connections are there for

you to hook it up to old Betsy.

I’m sure you’ve heard the argument that kids don’t go out

and play anymore, all they do is play video games. Nintendo is making it a

little bit easier to justify that new console purchase. It’s not available in

the States yet, but game fans in Japan can get their full body work out on with

the Wii Fit.

You can dance, play sports do yoga, and the list goes

on.  Check the video and see for

yourself:
