Jackson, Mississippi rapper David Banner and R&B superstar Chris Brown collaborated on a new track featured on Banners upcoming album The Greatest Story Ever Told.
The pair, who starred together in the film This Christmas, recently recorded “Get Like Me” which will be the albums lead single.
“I’ve been knowing Chris for a while and I’m amazed with his vision,” David Banner told AllHipHop.com. “[Chris] Brown knows just what direction he wants to go in as an artist. I can’t control this one its popping up every where.”
The rapper said that his goal recording The Greatest Story Ever Told was to craft a complete album that listeners will play from start to finish.
David Banners album was originally due in stores in December 2007, but was delayed until March 2008.
The Greatest Story Ever Told includes production from Lil Jon, Akon, Cool & Dre and Banner himself, while rappers like Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg and T.I. featured on the album.
“The reason why it’s taking so long to come out is because I’m waiting on the machine known as Universal to work as hard as I do,” Banner told AllHIpHop.com “The only way that will happen is if I get off my ass and get this ship popping like I’ve been doing.
”People don’t buy records no more they buy brands, concepts, and/or visions,” said Banner, who recently landed a starring role in Ice Cubes new movie The Comeback, which is being directed by rocker Fred Durst.
The Greatest Story Ever Told is due in stores in March.
