Basketball phenomenon LeBron James will do his part to encourage safe driving as part of a new marketing deal with insurance giant State Farm, AllHipHop.com has learned.
The All-Star Cleveland Cavaliers Forward will help State Farm target a young adult market, in addition to creating initiatives that help provide children and young adults with safer, stronger, and better-educated communities.
“State Farm is a great company that shares my values and passion for improving the lives of people all across the country,” LeBron James said. “We both have a common goal — to help kids and strengthen the communities that they live in.”
The new relationship will be publicly announced in New Orleans, during a ribbon cutting ceremony at the St. Bernard Recreation Center tomorrow (February 14).
St. Bernard Recreation Center was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and rebuilt in September 2006.
State Farm sponsored the rebuild of the center, which is now the first installation in the LeBron James Family Foundations national playground initiative.
James, who moonlights as a rapper, leads the NBA in scoring with 30.1 points-per-game.
The 23-year-old hoopster said hes been a State Farm customer since 2004.
