Black Eyed Peas member Taboo will add more star power to the second movie adaptation of the popular Street Fighter video game as the newest member of the film’s cast.

Although an official announcement has not been made concerning the role Taboo will play, it has been rumored that the 32-year-old rapper will portray Vega in the film, titled Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li.

In addition to Taboo, the feature will star Smallville actress Kristin Kreuk, Michael Clarke Duncan, Chris Klein and Neal McDonough.

Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li is the latest version of the Street Fighter game to hit the big screen.

The first Street Fighter movie, which was released in 1994, starred martial arts star Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Filming for the new movie is scheduled to begin sometime in March in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Vancouver, according to reports.

The Street Fighter role will not be Taboo’s first acting job. The rapper has appeared in the films Be Cool, Dirty, and Cosmic Radio.

Taboo isn’t the only Black Eyed Peas member to snag a major role in an upcoming action film.

In February, the group’s frontman will.i.am signed on to play the mutant John Wraith in the highly anticipated X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The film, which is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2009, marks the rapper/producer’s first film role.

Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li is slated to hit theaters in March 2009.
