Rap star Kanye West is diversifying his business portfolio with the launch of Kanye Travel Ventures (KTV), a new travel program geared at “serving the business and leisure travel demands” of West’s world-wide fan base.

KTV, which is owned by the rapper’s West Brands LLC, has assembled travel experts and consultants who created a travel program that will “reflect Kanye’s style and approach to living.”

Fans will be able to customize trips, purchase concert tickets and buy various merchandise on the www.kaynetravel.com website.

In related news, West will travel to Baltimore this August, as one of the headlining acts of the third annual Virgin Mobile Festival, which is the largest music and arts festival on the East Coast.

Kanye West, along with Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots and Jack Johnson, will perform August 9-10 at the Pimlico Race Course.

Virgin Group Founder and Chairman Sir Richard Branson made the announcement during a keynote address at the 2008 CTIA Wireless convention in Las Vegas.

“In addition to bringing out stellar artists, last year’s event was one of the largest ‘green’ music festivals in the States,” said Branson. “Our efforts continue to reflect Virgin Group’s passionate commitment to fight climate change and minimize carbon emissions. Virgin Mobile USA will again host a wonderfully eco-friendly event that’s light on carbon impact but heavy on the rock and roll.”

More information and performing artists will be announced during the coming weeks, according Branson.
