Shawn Jay-Z Carter and Beyonce Knowles hosted an extravagant affair for their closest friends and family on April 4, and according to published reports, are now a married couple.
An extremely close source confirmed with AllHipHop.com that they are husband and wife.
There have yet to be any official confirmations as to the entertainer’s marital status.
Attendees at the super-exclusive evening party included Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Solange Knowles Gwyneth Paltrow and husband Chris Martin of Coldplay, Beyonce parents and Jay-Zs mother.
Movers ushered dozens of white orchids, candles and furniture into Jay-Zs Tribeca home earlier in the day and most guests seen were wearing white.
According to reports, none of the guests were allowed to enter the venue with cameras or cell phones.
The event was called off earlier on Friday, only to be called back on. Drivers were contracted a mere three days before and were not told what the event was for.
Still, no officials associated with Jay-Z or Beyonce have revealed any indication as to whether or not they are actually bride and groom as of April 4.
US magazine reported that a preacher entered Jay-Zs building about 8 pm. Other reports have stated, without corroboration, that the pair will have another ceremony on May 4.
A chauffeur told eonline.com that “definitely a wedding,” but didnt say who or where that wedding was.
Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige appeared on the “Late Show With David Letterman” Friday evening.
According to reports, David Letterman tapes his Friday shows on Thursday evening.
Jay-Z and Mary are slated to be in Greensboro, NC April 5 for the Heart of the City tour.
Jay-Z and Beyonce have been dating since 2002 and have been very reserved about divulging details surrounding their relationship.
On Tuesday April 1, which was April Fools Day, the pair applied for a marriage license in Scarsdale, New York. The license is valid for 60 days.
