The mother of superstar rapper Eminem is being sued over her recently released book on the rapper’s life, titled My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem: Setting the Record Straight on My Life as Eminem’s Mother.

Debbie Nelson is being sued by Neal Alpert and the Rachel Erin Corporation in breach of contract lawsuit, which was filed yesterday (April 7) in Oakland County Court in Michigan.

The lawsuit claims that Nelson entered into a contract in November of 2005, agreeing to let Alpert act as her exclusive agent for various radio, book, TV and motion picture deals, in return for 25% of the gross profits.

Nelson allegedly developed and wrote My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem behind Alpert’s back, although she was still bound to him under the terms of the November 2005 agreement.

Alpert claims that the rapper’s mother entered into an agreement with another agent in July of 2006

According to the lawsuit, the book, initially released in Great Britain in September 2007, has sold more than 100,000 copies, yet Alpert nor the Rachel Erin Co. has received any commissions.

Eminem and his mother have feuded over the past several years.

The rapper has accused his mother of being abusive and regularly using drugs, while Nelson sued her superstar son for defamation of character.

In the book My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem, Nelson claims that her son made his entire image up in order to sell records.

“After his first album Infinite flopped, he reinvented himself as white trailer trash with a crazy welfare mom,“ Nelson writes in the book. “I was shocked when I first heard the lyrics – but he constantly reassured me it was all a big joke. I went along with it for Marshall’s sake.”

My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem: Setting the Record Straight on My Life as Eminem’s Mother is due in stores in the United States this week.
