Former Chopper City Boys group member Rapper VL Mike was shot to death earlier today (April 20) in New Orleans, AllHipHop.com has learned.

VL Mike, born Michael Allen, 32, was murdered when a man shot him to death, as he exited his vehicle between Paris Avenue and Overton Drive.

The rapper was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the gunman escaped on foot and have yet to release information on a suspect or a motive in the slaying, which was the city’s seventh murder in the past four days.

VL Mike, who resided in New Orleans and Atlanta, was featured on The Chopper City Boyz’ debut album We Got This and recorded tracks with rappers like Webbie and The Game.

He left The Chopper City Boyz shortly after the release of We Got This, after a falling out with leader B.G.

VL Mike recorded a diss record against B.G. titled “Ether.”

He was rumored to be in negotiations with several labels to release his new album, including The Game’s Black Wall Street.
