Hip-Hop star Remy Ma must wait another two weeks before she learns her fate, as the rappers sentencing date for shooting a friend twice has been pushed back until May.
Remy Ma, born Remy Smith, was due to be sentenced to prison on April 23. Sources told AllHipHop.com that Remy Ma, 26, will now be sentenced to prison on May 13.
Although she faces up to 25 years in prison after a New York Supreme Court found the rapper guilty of assault, weapons possession and coercion, sources stated that Remy Ma is expected to receive anywhere from three to five years in prison.
The guilty verdict and upcoming sentencing of Remy Ma stems from an incident in July 2007, in which Remy Ma accused childhood friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph of stealing $3000 dollars from her purse.
Remy Mas defense contended that the shooting was an accident, as did Barnes-Jospeh, who testified that the gun went off by accident, as the two women struggled over Barnes-Josephs purse.
Lawyers for Remy Ma have stated that they would appeal the verdict.
