A number of rappers are on board to star in I.E., a new anti-gang awareness film that is based on a true story about two opposing gangs in Southern California.

Daz, Kurupt, Sticky Fingaz, Fredo Starr, Bad Azz, Bokeem Woodbine and others star in I.E., which is being produced by Lola Jackson Productions.

Described as The Departed meets Training Day, the film is based on The L.A. Crips, who set their sights on territory controlled by The I.E. Mob in San Bernardino County.

I.E., which is being lensed by director Billy Wright, focuses on “Cory,” an imprisoned gang member from the Inland Empire area who is serving time in San Bernardino jail.

He hears about his brothers death and The L.A. Crips’ incursion into I.E. Mob territory and the result is all out gang war in Southern California.

“As a result of Cory avenging his younger brother Alonzo‘s death, he is sent to prison for murder,” executive producer Lola Jackson said. “Seven years later after all the madness in the I.E. has ceased, Cory finally accepts his calling as a minister.”

The film, which is currently in pre-production, is scheduled to go into production this summer.

Others starring in I.E. include Melvin Jackson Jr., Jensen Atwood, Jade Yorker and others.

Snoop Dogg is also rumored to be in negotiations to join the cast.
