TODAY’S RUMORS – THE FATHER’S DAY EDITION!

RHYMEFEST AND SON…TALK

About a week or so, Rhymefest and his 9-year-old son, Solomon, had a touching talk between the two of them that prompted us to add it to the site. It was very emotional and very necessary to show on Father’s Day 2008. Check out the audio by clicking the picture and some of the video is below the Ill Hulk. Also, check below for some other songs and video odes to Pops. Click here to listen to Rhymefest and son Solomon chop it up.

Part 4

KEVIN POWELL TALKS ABOUT TUPAC’S FATHER

Here is a real doozie just like Rhymefest and his son. K.P. talked to Pac more than any journalist. Shortly after ‘Pac died, he talked to the biological father of Tupac. Kevin Powell reflects on that moment when he had a sad, but thought-provoking interview with William “Billy” Garland, Tupac’s father. Check it out right here….Also, if you feel him, support Kevin’s bid for Congress. Click the pic for more information.

FATHER’S DAY CLASSICS!

Ed OG Da Bulldogs – “Be A Father To Your Child”

Ed OG spoke a timeless piece of knowledge right here. This is when Hip-Hop could have a single that wasn’t about booty-shaking and the party. Shout out to Ed OG and the Bulldogs, whereever they are.

NAS & HIS FATHER

NaS and Olu Dara – “Bridging The Gap”

Olu Dara featuring Nas doing poetry – “Jungle”

Common and his Father Lonnie – “Forever Begins”

Pops is dropping the ill knowledge on this one. Kudos!

Common performs “Be” live. The song is a collabo with his father.

MORE FATHER’S DAY SONGS

Eminem crafted a real nice song dedicated to his daughter. Check out “Mockingbird.”

Tupac never had any kids, but he wanted to be a father based on the song “Letter 2 My Unborn Child.” Peep it.

Ja Rule’s “Daddy’s Little Baby” was a father’s song that people missed, but this is definitely one dope dedication. Ja did his thing on this one with Ronald Isley.

The Game “Like Father Like Son”

I love how The Game shows his love for his kids. That’s real. LAX has both of his kids on the cover. Game can scowl all he wants. I know what’s up as it relates to his kids.

Xzibit – “The Foundation”

Xzibit recently lost a son. God bless him and his family. On the other side, he wrong “The Foundation” as a road map to his eldest son (and other kids too). “You can only run the streets for so long” he raps. The song was the second single from his 1996 debut, At the Speed of Life.

Nas “Me and You”

Nas talks to Destiny, his only child.

Will Smith – “Just The Two Of Us”

Will Smith’s Big Willie Style was a big step for the former Fresh Prince and, when she put out “Just The Two Of US,” it was apparent there was a new fresh prince. Trey is his name and he is Will’s first born. Check out this joint.

Lil’ Wayne & Birdman – “Stuntin’ Like My Daddy”

What the hell! They might not be biological, but Birdman has been that father figure for Lil Wayne. Truth is, more young people need that when the birth father isn’t there.

GOOD FATHERS, WE LOVE YOU!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!
