Mogul 50 Cent won a significant battle in his legal war with ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins today (September 8) in Suffolk Family Court.
Long Island Judge David Freundlich ruled today that the rapper can see his 11-year-old son Marquise every other weekend until an October 22 custody trial in family court.
The Queens native was mobbed by fans outside the courtroom, and disclosed to the New York Daily News that he plans to relax after closing another convoluted legal chapter with his childs mother.
Im going to hang out with some women, 50 Cent quipped. Make some music, make some movies, and continue to kick it.
Because Tompkins order of protection bars 50, real name Curtis Jackson, from having any direct contact with her, Tompkins has agreed to drop their son off every other Friday night at a police precinct in Queens.
From there 50s mother or a driver will retrieve the boy.
Both Jackson and Tompkins have lawsuits pending against one another, stemming from a suspicious fire in May that destroyed Jacksons $2.5 million dollar mansion in Dix Hills, Long Island.
Tompkins suit alleges that 50 started the fire to renege on a previous verbal agreement made in 2000 to split income made from his rap career.
She is requesting half of his reputed $100 million dollar portfolio.
Vehemently denying her claims, 50 countered with a $20 million dollar defamation lawsuit.
Shaniqua Tompkins nor her lawyer could be reached for comment.
